Mango from Thailand, similar to Nam Doc Mai but much bigger, eaten both green (sweet, crispy) and ripe (when yellow). This is a rare variety, very popular among Thai and Vietnamese people. The fruit are extremely sweet, fiberless and somewhat crunchy ("Mun" means crunchy). The fruit are elongated, hang in clusters, and turn yellow when ready to pick. It is a very late producer, fruit may still be on a tree as late as January.

Cac is a selection from Vietnam, where it was singled out for consistent yields, a beautiful appearance and superb eating quality. The fruit are ovate and are 18 oz with an uncommonly smooth skin. The fruit are greenish-yellow with a lemon yellow flesh with no fiber. The flavor is uncomplicated, blending the elements of citrus and peach with a gentle floral bouquet. The tree is vigorous, with an open and leggy growth habit that requires close attention to branch tipping and shaping. The fruit have good disease tolerance and ripen in the middle of the mango season.

Small leathery, pear shaped leaves on compact, rounded shrub, with small light pink flowers. The leaves have a special effect: you may write with a sharp stick on the surface, and the writing will stay forever. Thus the common name of this plant!

This rare Annona is a species originally brought to us from Costa Rica. We believe it to be a natural hybrid between A. muricata and A. glabra. It is a very ornamental, evergreen, small to medium size tree with waxy, large 4-6 inch leaves, similar to A. muricata, A. montana or Rollinia. Fast growing, forms nice bushy specimen. Flowers are very similar to A. muricata.
It has a large, up to 1 lb fruit, green when unripe, sometimes with gray to brown spots, turning dark yellow to orange on ripening. The pulp is golden to orange when ripe, with strong Pineapple scent, and resembling Jackfruit in texture. Flavor is like the custard apple but with pineapple, papaya, apricot and melon overtones. Note that some people dislike the taste, others find it good.

Malpighia punicifolia - Dwarf Barbados-Cherry, Dwarf Acerola, Dwarf Pink Mound.
This dwarf form of Acerola makes a wonderful low-growing shrub or beautiful bonsai tree with edible fruit. Profuse bloomer, it is also a nice ornamental.
Due to its shallow and smaller root system, Acerolas can be interplanted with other crops more closely than many trees. Acerolas grows in marl, limestone, clay and other heavy soils as long as it drains well. Has the highest vitamin C content of any fruit. 1 Cherry is equal to 12 oranges. Used in jellies, jams, freezes without losing its vitamin C content. The plant is drought tolerant and easy to grow.

That means it's blooming all winter in Naples during season, when the most color is desired and appreciated. Dombeya Seminole is a large shrub that grows 7 feet tall and about the same in width. It can be kept to about 5 feet tall with pruning.
This shrub will grow in full sun to partial shade and will tolerate poor soil. The more sun, the fuller the shrub, and that also encourages the maximum number of flowers. It is also fairly drought-tolerant once established.

Mangosteen. This delicious fruit has a thick, dark-red skin, inside which are creamy white segments with a sweet, slightly tart flavor. Purported by many who have had the luxury of tasting it as being the best tasting fruit in the world.

Hibiscus mutabilis - Kristi's Cotton Candy. Confederate Rose, Cotton Rose, Common Rose Mallow. The flowers open pure white and change color over a three-day period until they are deep pink and then as they die assume a dark "blue-pink" hue. The most notable characteristic of this flowering shrub is that flowers of three distinct colors appear on the bush simultaneously as the blooms color cycle independent of one another. This shrub thrives on regular watering but this is optional as it is very drought tolerant.

Cecropia is a very showy tree with spreading crown and large leaves up to 24 inches wide with silver-white lower surfaces. Cylindrical, soft-flesh fruit are drooping in clusters resembling octopus. They are very tasty - sweet, watery, aromatic.

Soncoya, Toreta, Ilama. Medium-sized tree with a trunk that usually branches fairly low. The fruit pulp is very good but not marketed. In Colombia, the pulp is eaten raw or is strained for juice, drunk as a beverage or folk remedy. In Mexico, Soncoya juice is regarded as a remedy for fever and chills.

Golden Flamboyant, Yellow Poinciana, African wattle, weeping wattle. Small to medium-size semi-deciduous to deciduous tree. An excellent garden shade tree, beautiful in flower. Great plant for bonsai. This variety starts flowering at young age, in 3 gal pot.

A fiberless selection from Central America having firm, juicy flesh. Excellent and can easily be kept small.
