Everyone has their own opinion on fragrances, but jasmine plants are right up there at the top of most lists. The jasmine flower, although small in size, is very large in the amount of fragrance it produces. Whether you have a day blooming jasmine or a night blooming jasmine, you will have a plant that will reward you with a great fragrance that just floats in the air and oftentimes can be detected far from the bloom.
Most jasmine plants grow as a shrub, but there are some like the confederate that are more of a jasmine vine plant. They will easily climb fences and do need some trimming to keep from taking over. You can grow a jasmine plant indoors, but you will need to make sure it gets plenty of light. This is a great way to enjoy jasmine if you are in a northern area where it will not live outdoors in the winter. Be sure to keep it in a south window where it will get plenty of light. Well now you just have to decide if it will be a shrub or a vine for you and would you prefer a day blooming or night blooming jasmine. But what if you want a jasmine tree? Is that even a thing? Well technically, no. There are some plants called tree jasmine that have a flower which has a fragrance resembling jasmine, but they are not in the jasmine family. They are, however, small trees worth having in your fragrant garden.
