Banana Zebrina Rojo, Blood Leaf, Red Leaf. This outstanding banana features large, variegated leaves with red splashes on top, burgundy undersides, and reddish stems giving rise to the name Blood Leaf Banana. It shows up well against solid green companion plants, and performs well in containers. It will overwinter nicely in colder climates and produces small red fruit.
The leaves are paddle-shaped and have green and red mottling on top, with a solid maroon color on the bottom. When grown in a container, the plant can be kept to a height of 4-6 ft, but can grow to be 5-8 ft tall when planted in the ground. The plant can be used as a focal point or in mass plantings in a garden, or grown in a container. It can also provide a backdrop for other smaller tropical plants.

This is a showy, natural green sport (reversion) from the red Bordelon. It grows the same way and will flower and set fruit, but without the red striping. Think of it as Bordelons green twin - still ornamental, just in a more classic banana look. Very vigorous and hardy plant.

The 10-15' tall stalks are adorned with red-striped leaves that also feature an attractive red leaf back which is especially visible when the leaves unfurl. Based on trials around the country, M. Bordelon appears to be the hardiest of the red-striped varieties. If the growing point is protected in winter, M. Bordelon will flower and fruit, although fruits are seeded. It's cold-tolerant for a banana and can flower and fruit if protected in winter. Originally from Louisiana, it's a striking and resilient choice for Southern gardens and collectors alike. Chocolate tree, Cacao. This beautiful tree has large dark green leaves that shade the fruit pods which grow directly from the trunk and branches. The flesh is eaten as a dessert, and the seeds are the raw material of chocolate. Hot chocolate can be made by drying the seeds, roasting, grinding, and adding milk. Belle de Nuit, Lady of the Night, Queen of the Night, Night blooming Cereus - powerfully fragrant at night! This special cactus grows in tropical rainforests and has large wide meaty leaves. This is a shade loving Euphorbia. Grows to about 28" tall. It is shaped like a miniature palm tree. The leaves are covered with a milky white bloom that adds to the interest. It is very easy to grow the plant.

Achacha, Achachairu. Small, prolifically-fruiting tree related to the Mangosteen. The taste is described as both bitter and sweet and is somewhat reminiscent of lemonade. The rather tough, bitter rind can be split open with a knife or with the teeth, and the edible part of the fruit sucked off the seed. The Achacha is in season from December to mid-March.
The small tree with a pyramidal canopy is prolifically-fruiting. It grows in the southern part of the Amazon basin in the central area of Bolivia. Achachas are tangy and refreshing with a delicate subtle sweetness, a fine balance between sweetness and acidity, producing an unusual taste sensation. Fruit should be picked mature as it does not ripen further on storage. In addition to having a great flavor, Achacha fruit has more flesh relative to its weight, when compared to the renowned purple mangosteen. Its rind is also palatable and easily utilized for beverages. The Bolivian name of the fruit is Achachairu and translated means honey kiss in Guarani language. Nutritionally, Achachas are valuable source of vitamin C and folate, as well as potassium, riboflaving and antioxidants.

The Hong Kong Guava which was created in Hawaii from a seed grown guava in Hong Kong, features a large, round fruit which can get between 6 to 8 ounces in weight. The fruit has a smooth pink exterior, with a sweet flavor, and very few seeds inside. This particular guava variety is very tolerant to most soil types and climate conditions but must be protected from freezing temperatures. The Hong Kong Guava tree is high yielding and spreads outwards in growth habit.

The petals are frilly and eye-catching, followed by quirky three-winged seed pods that spin like tiny helicopters. Jack-edak is a highly recommended variety grown in TopTropicals garden from a seedling of Cheena (Jackfruit x Chempedak) that fruited for us within 3 years from planting. The fruit (20-25 inches size) is probably the best we ever tasted! It is super sweet, crunchy and has a rich, pleasant, excellent flavor. It has very little latex which makes it easy to handle when cutting up. The tree produces at the very base of the trunk, so you can prune it as short as you want. Our tree survived light frosts as well as 48 hours of 3ft flooding, with no damage!

A new exciting hybrid of Jasmine sambac Grand Duke Supreme, it combines benefits of large, triple flowers with a compact, bushy growth habit! What an amazing gift for every jasmine lover. Unlike regular Grand Duke that tends to be leggy, this variety branches out much more and stays short with minimal pruning. Monstera adansonii (friedrichsthalii) hybrid, possibly with M. obliqua. Window Leaf. An unusual form of Monstera with smaller leaves that have many holes. Makes an interesting indoor specimen. This is a hybrid variety. There are many hybrids in cultivation between Monstera adansonii, Monstera obliqua, Monstera friedrichsthalii.
