This variety is valuable due to its relatively small growth habit, rich and complex flavor, and good disease resistance. It was named after Angie Whitman, wife of Bill Whitman and a trustee of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Fruit is yellow to orange in color at maturity, and average about 1 lb. The fruit is oblong and saffron yellow with Indian orange blush on the sun-exposed shoulders. The skin is smooth and without visible lenticels. The flesh is tangerine orange and without fiber. The flavor is rich and sweet.
The trees are considered semi-dwarf and easy to manage through pruning. The disease tolerance is excellent and given its early season it often can be harvested before the rainy season in South Florida. The tree is semi-dwarf and highly manageable with annual pruning. Size can be maintained at or below 8 ft with consistent production.

This mango is very similar to the Haden, only better! It has the same flavor with the Haden, with less fiber. The fruit are also bigger and less prone to fungus problems. Pick when you see the base of the fruit turning yellow. Eat before fruit gets too ripe. Best cold tolerance.

Baptiste is a popular Haitian dessert mango. It is a mid-season fruit here in SW FL, but in its native climate it can fruit year round. It is a small, manageable tree which makes it a great choice for space limited gardeners. The fruit is around 14 ounces with a mottled yellow skin when ripe. It has a firm, sweet flesh which holds its shape in fruit salads and other desserts well. The leaves are narrow and distinctive, similar to variety Ice Cream.
