Buddhist rosary bead, Deadly crab's eye. A small climbing tropical vine, indigenous to Indonesia. The flowers are violet to pink and arranged in clusters. Very showy seeds red and black, look like bird eye.

Brazilian Bell-flower is a fun and easy-to-grow hummingbird magnet for the perennial border. In the garden or in a hanging container, it spreads to several feet wide in a single season. In the wild, Abutilon megapotamicum reaches 8' tall, but in cultivation arely exceeds 5' tall, and less when grown as a potted plant. During warm months, the plants are laden with cool 2" hanging lantern-like flowers composed of red calyces above the yellow petals, ending with its bright red privates dangling beneath... all carefully arranged between the thumb-sized green leaves.

Grand Nain (often misspelled "Gran Nain") is one of the most productive and widely grown dessert bananas in the world. A member of the Cavendish group, it is prized for its vigorous growth, heavy yields, and delicious sweet fruit that resembles the familiar supermarket banana. Grand Nain is the true Chiquita banana, the main product of Chiquita Brands International. Tree is 8' when mature and produces large bunches of bananas.
Compared to Dwarf Cavendish, Grand Nain typically grows taller and stronger, producing larger bunches and higher yields. The plants develop broad, lush green leaves that create an attractive tropical appearance in the landscape while also providing edible fruit.
The fruit is medium to large, with creamy white flesh and a sweet, classic banana flavor. Bunches can be impressive in size under favorable growing conditions, making Grand Nain a popular choice for home gardeners and commercial growers alike.
Grand Nain thrives in warm climates and performs best in full sun with regular watering and fertile, well-drained soil. It can be grown in the ground or in large containers where space is limited. Mature Height: 8-12 ft.

Dwarf Red Jade vine, cold hardy! If you always wanted to own THE Red Jade Vine, here is your chance! Also called Cuitelo, Crista-De-Galo (Rooster's Crest), it is sometimes miss-identified as a Mucuna species. This amazing eye-catcher is closely related to Red Jade Vine, however, it is much hardier than the ultra-tropical Mucuna benettii! This vine surovived 3 nights of 25F in our garden in record freeze 2026 (established plant).
It is a spectacular fast-growing vine from Brazil with long pendulous chains of fiery bright red flowers. Heavy vine, it needs large trellis or pagoda. An arbor is ideal so that the brilliant flowering racemes can hang down from the ceiling. Blooms in fall and winter. Prune heavily in spring after flowering. Give full or partial sun with adequate moisture and fertilizer. It is very easy to grow, can tolerate some drought and light frost.

Cashmere Bouquet, Scent Malli. Fast growing bush with lush tropical foliage and very fragrant white flowers, carnation-like, coming in big clusters. Shade tolerant, great for shade gardens and as an indoor plant to enjoy tropical fragrance year around.

Australian Tree fern - one of the most tropical looking plants. Adds "Hawaii" spirit to your garden. It puts on growth very quickly. The fronds typically will reach about 8' long on a mature specimen, but, as with most tree ferns, they will be significantly stunted if kept in a pot. It will grow well in dappled (but not deep) shade, but also does well in some sun, even in hot climates, as long as the moisture supply is adequate. It also does relatively well in exposed, windy situations.

Weeping Blue Ginger, Blue Pendant. Unusual zinger-looking perennial with dark green foliage with arching stems. Heads of dark electric-blue flowers top tall, jointed stems with glossy heavy leaves faintly banded silver and toned purplish-blue beneath. Rare color for tropics!

Araza is a shrub or small tree growing to 7-15 ft with drooping branches and fine foliage. It is very rare in cultivation and definitely a collectable plant. Fruit are soft, fragile and don't ship well, so the only way to enjoy them is to grow your own plant. It blooms in Summer with showy white flowers, followed by large (2-5 inches wide) bright yellow fragrant fruit having an excellent sour-acid flavor. Fruit are very juicy, with a strong fruity aroma, usually ripening by Fall. Sometimes eaten fresh, out of hand, although the fruits are quite acidic, it is more commonly used to flavor ice creams, sweets, and beverages. It is very high in vitamin C, double the amount of the average orange.

Governors plum, Madagascar Plum, Batoko palm - is a tropical or subtropical small shrubby tree. It is cultivated in tropical regions as a hedge plant and for its deep red acid fruits resembling small plums. The fruits are about one inch wide and can be eaten fresh or made into preserves. They are sweet and sour, with a texture and flavor similar to a plum. Fruits mature after one to two months from flowering.
The tree is easy to grow, self-fertile and doesn't require much care, not fussy about soil and very forgiving if you forget to water it.
Seeds germinate readily, but it takes a while until the seedling is ready to be transplanted into a big pot or in the ground, a few months.

Rare variety of Tropical Guava from Indonesia. Round fruit with white flesh.

Taiwanese Guava. It is a large, crunchy guava containing few seeds. Guava is a good tropical fruit tree not fussy on the soil quality, and produces fruit year after year. It is relatively cold hardy. Requires regular watering. Great container plant, will fruit in a pot in small size.

The Ataulfo mango, also called Young, Baby, Yellow, Honey, Adaulfo, Adolfo, or Champagne, is a popular Mexican variety known for its smooth, fiberless flesh and rich, honey-sweet flavor. The fruit is small to medium (typically 6-10 oz), with a distinctive curved, almost S-shaped form and deep golden-yellow skin when ripe. Its texture is buttery and creamy, with very little acidity and a tropical, almost caramel-like sweetness. Originally selected in the Chiapas region of Mexico, Ataulfo is one of the most widely grown commercial mangos due to its reliable production and excellent eating quality. It is also prized for its unusually small seed, giving you more edible flesh per fruit. A perfect everyday mango - easy to love and consistently delicious.

'Okrung' is an excellent Thai cultivar introduced to Florida in 1973. Thai-cultivar, green-yellow fruit eaten while green. The fruit is traditionally served in Thailand in combination with sticky rice. One of the most popular varieties in Thailand. The fruit is very sweet, with the highest sugar content of any mango tested in Florida. It has a strong Indo-Chinese flavor and is somewhat fibrous. The fruit are small, hand in clusters and drop off the tree when ripe.

New variety with rainbow colors - orange, pink, red, yellow. Different shades of colors may be on different flowers on the same plant, and the color changes within a few days - see changing colors. Spectacular! Fragrance is very strong.

Although this plant can grow into a giant tree, but it can also be kept contained in a pot: this causes it to grow a massive caudex that resembles a tortoise shell! Rare small shrub from tropical and southern Africa with 1 inch tubular red flowers in spikes. Blooms over many months in summer. Will grow to 3 feet high and wide in bright shade with rich, moist soil. Ruspolia hypocrateriformis has smooth leaves with angled stems, compared to the slightly hairy leaves and round stems of Ruspolia seticalyx. Ruspolia hypocrateriformis is also a more robust plant. Otherwise, they are very similar and easily misidentified. It is ideal for attracting butterflies as a nectar plant.
