Aquatic and Bog plants

Do you have a property with a pond or creek? Maybe you have an area that seems to stay pretty wet most of the time. This might just be the perfect place for a bog garden. There are many tropical plants that work well as bog plants. Two of the largest groups are the Alocasia and the Colocasia or taro. Many of these are commonly called elephant ears and some of them can grow as large as an elephant’s ear. Be sure to keep these plants moist in order to look their best.
There are a number of other pond plants available. Many of them can be grown in containers in a pond which will allow you to move them around from time to time. Other water plants for ponds, such as the Rhizophora mangle or Red mangrove can help to keep your pond clean and smaller specimens can be grown in a terrarium or on a shelf in your aquarium. This is a freshwater aquatic plant that is also adaptable to salt water.
