Amorphophallus konjac is one of the largest flowers, a perennial exotic Asian plant. It grows a single, elongated center called a corm and a single large leaf that wraps around it. The corm is the part of the plant that is used, as well as its tuber, which is commonly called the konnyaku potato. It is one of the most exotic, bizarre flowers. Can be easily grown in a pot as a house plant. The single leaf dormant in winter, then in spring the plant shoots out a fantastic flower. See picture of a flowering plant.

Booth 8 is a Guatemalan and West Indian hybrid variety of avocado. It was planted extensively in the 70s by Avocado growers in South Florida. Growing to a height of 30 feet with a diameter of 20 feet, Booth 8 matures in late August through December. It has a moderate cold tolerance, is a high producer and has a mild susceptibility to scab. This variety of avocado is recommended for the home garden. It produces an oblong fruit that weighs 1 to 1 ½ pounds.

A dwarf ginger that is hard to find, but well worth it. Intermittently throughout the year, bright golden-orange cones will appear above the glossy dark green, maroon-backed leaves. Individual flowers will open and last for a period of about two weeks during each bloom cycle. Has a very upright growth habit. An excellent indoor plant, it should be kept out of direct sunlight as this will scorch the leaves, and should be kept in a container even outdoors, as they are very cold-tender and must be brought inside in the fall. When repotting, take care that only the roots are burried in the soil or potting medium, as it is a bit of an epiphyte (air plant) and the rhyzome must remain above ground level.

Hilo Beauty is a gorgeous, ornamental, evergreen perennial plant with unique black stems with a bluish hue and lovely variegated large leaves. This cultivar originated from Visakapatanam in Andhra Pradesh, India and is one of the most popular Indian varieties. It is also known as Chinnasuvarnarekha, Latsundar in Odisha, and Sundari in northern India. The fruit is ovate-oblong in shape, medium-sized and yellow with a jasper red blush. It is very early season and a strong producer. The fruit is considered to be of good quality and very juicy. The flavor comparable to a milder Bombay.

Halleys Comet is a hybrid of a white fleshed and red fleshed fruit. It is incredibly large, typically weighing 1.5-2.0 lbs. The fruit is slightly more rounded than the Physical Graffiti, and the fins are more abbreviated. In all other respects they are nearly identical.
