Mango from Thailand, similar to Nam Doc Mai but much bigger, eaten both green (sweet, crispy) and ripe (when yellow). This is a rare variety, very popular among Thai and Vietnamese people. The fruit are extremely sweet, fiberless and somewhat crunchy ("Mun" means crunchy). The fruit are elongated, hang in clusters, and turn yellow when ready to pick. It is a very late producer, fruit may still be on a tree as late as January.

A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

Dwarf Golden Tabebuia. Small tree, good for container culture. Late winter to spring the leafless tree is covered with bright yellow flowers. Perfect for small yard or patio.

Surinam Cherry, Pitanga - vigorous and quick to fruit, often producing the same year or by the next. This plant is a seedling from Black Surinam Cherry Lolita, known for its very sweet, juicy fruit with no aftertaste. The fruit is relatively large at about 1-1.2 inches, starting red and turning deep black when fully ripe. In our garden, these seedlings have come true to seed with black fruit, though some reports suggest they may occasionally produce red fruit as well.
Pitanga is a reliable producer with an upright, freely branching growth habit. It is also quite cold hardy, tolerating short periods of frost. Once established, the plant can handle temperatures in the upper 20s without damage.

Coffee Senna, Fedegoso, Privet Cassia. Medium size shrub or small tree with orange-yellow flowers from spring to fall. From distance, flowers look like little yellow hummingbirds and attract butterflies and bees. The plant is very ornamental not only due to its bloom but also to large, red-veined leaves. Propagation by seeds.

Champaka, or Joy Perfume Tree, with orange / yellow flowers, is regarded as one of the most sacred trees of India and tropical Asia. Its flowers exude a divine fragrance that is exceedingly pleasing to the Gods... and women!
The flowers from this tree are used to make the world's most expensive perfume Joy and smell like fruity bubble gum, you can't stop sticking your nose in this flower! In the ground, it grows to 15-20' in height, but it can be easily kept in a pot. It is a tropical tree, however established plants can tolerate light freeze. Yellow Champaca is much more cold tolerant than var. Alba.
This is hands down the best perfume tree for a Southern landscape.

Illinois Everbearing is one of the best mulberry varieties you can grow. A cross between the white and red mulberry, it combines the hardiness of one with the rich flavor of the other.
This tree is hardy in USDA Zones 5 to 10, surviving temperatures down to -20F while also thriving in summer heat and poor soils. It grows quickly, adding 3 to 5 feet a year and maturing into a 20 to 30 ft shade tree. Its foliage is also attractive, with deeply carved, oak-like leaves that add ornamental value to the tree. Some trees even fruit in their first year.
The long, everbearing season is one of its biggest strengths. Berries about an inch and a half long ripen steadily from July into September, instead of all at once. They are sweet, juicy, and slightly tangy, often considered the best-tasting mulberries. Each tree can yield 15 to 25 pounds of fruit by its second or third year.
Illinois Everbearing is low-maintenance, generally free of pests and diseases, and easy to establish. Plant it for the fruit, the quick shade, or the wildlife it attracts. With good care, this tree can be a long-lived part of your garden.
