7. Fresh papaya salsa
Combine diced papaya, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Serve with grilled shrimp, fish tacos, or chicken.
  • •🍭 8. Candied papaya
Simmer firm papaya cubes in sugar syrup until translucent. Drain and dry until no longer wet. Enjoy as tropical candy or add to fruitcakes.

  • •🍰 10. Papaya upside-down cake
Arrange firm papaya slices over butter and brown sugar in a cake pan. Cover with vanilla cake batter, bake until done, and invert while warm.

Turn them into fruit leather, jam, or chutney! These recipes use generous amounts of fruit. Refrigerate homemade sauces and preserves unless using a tested shelf-stable canning recipe.

Daily Cat Lesson: Check for Cats Before You Press START!

Daily Cat Lesson: Check for Cats Before You Press START!

🐾 Daily Cat Lesson: Check for Cats Before You Press START!

Cats love cozy hiding places. And a washer or dryer - especially one full of warm, soft laundry - can look like a five-star cat bed.
Unfortunately, it can also be extremely dangerous.

🐾 Why would a cat climb inside?

It's dark, enclosed, quiet and often warm. Everything cats look for in a perfect hiding place.

⚠️ Make this a household rule:

Before starting a washer or dryer, physically look inside for a cat. Check under towels, blankets and piles of laundry too. A kitten can disappear completely inside a heap of clothes.
Keep washer and dryer doors closed when they're not being loaded so cats don't learn to use the machines as sleeping spots.

Sleeping on top of a closed washing machine, like James Coconuts? Fine - as long as he doesn't operate the controls.
Sleeping inside? Absolutely not.
And remember our lesson about mysteriously disappearing cats?
The washer and dryer are two hiding places that should never remain secret.

The laundry rule in a cat household:

Clothes in. Cat out. Check twice. Press START.

HELP! Too many Papayas - any recipes?

🆘 HELP! Too many Papayas - any recipes?

🍊Papaya invasion! From Florida freeze to a truckload of papayas in just 8 months!
Florida's record winter freeze damaged our Papaya trees. So we started over, planting tiny seedlings in March.
And look at them now! By November, they're loaded with HUGE papayas - so many that one tree even fell over under the weight of its fruit!

🍊Now we have a new problem: What do we do with ALL these papayas?
Some are ripe, some are still green. We're giving them away, making Thai Green Papaya Salad, experimenting with recipes... and still have a truckload left!

❓ Do you grow Papayas?

What's your favorite way to use them? Share your recipes in the comments!

How to turn Yellow Leaves Green with SUNSHINE SuperFood

How to turn Yellow Leaves Green with SUNSHINE SuperFood

Cooler weather can bring an unwelcome surprise to tropical gardens - yellow leaves with green veins!
This common problem is called chlorosis. It often happens when plants can't absorb enough iron and other essential nutrients.
As temperatures drop, roots become less active. Cold, wet soil makes it harder for tropical plants to take up nutrients, even when those nutrients are already present in the ground.
The result? Yellowing leaves, slower growth, and unhappy plants...

🌿 A quick boost for hungry plants

SUNSHINE SuperFood is a special blend of essential micronutrients and amino acids designed to help plants recover from nutrient deficiencies.
It contains iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, boron, and other important elements that plants need in small amounts to stay healthy.

But here's what makes SuperFood special.
Its micronutrients are combined with amino acids, making them easier for plants to use. Think of it as a ready-to-serve nutritional meal instead of raw ingredients!

And because you can spray it directly onto the leaves, plants can absorb nutrients without relying entirely on their roots.

🌿 More than just greener leaves!

SUNSHINE SuperFood helps support:
• Rich, healthy green foliage
• Stronger growth and healthier roots
• Better flowering and fruit development
• Recovery from micronutrient deficiencies
• Overall plant vigor

🌿 Easy to use!

Mix 5 ml of SUNSHINE SuperFood per gallon of water.
Spray the foliage and water the root ball with the solution once a month.
It's suitable for tropical plants, fruit trees, flowering shrubs, and houseplants.

💡 A note about Florida alkaline soil.

Cooler soil slows root activity and can reduce nutrient uptake, but in Florida, alkaline soil is another major reason iron becomes unavailable. Chlorosis has several possible causes. And severely chlorotic older leaves don't always turn green again; sometimes the best results appear in new growth.

🎬 Watch our before-and-after video! See how Bauhinia and Barleria responded to SUNSHINE SuperFood.
Don't let your plants go hungry. Give them a little SUNSHINE, even when the weather cools down! 🌞
