🍴 Ice Cream Bean Cool Fluff

Ingredients

Fresh Ice Cream Bean pulp (Inga edulis)
Crushed ice
Optional: lime wedge or mint leaf for garnish

Instructions

Open ripe Ice Cream Bean pods and scoop out the sweet white pulp.
Remove and save the seeds if you want to plant more Ice Cream Bean trees.
Chill the pulp for 20 to 30 minutes.
Serve the chilled pulp over crushed ice as a natural shaved-ice dessert.

🌿 About the plant:
Ice cream bean (Inga edulis) produces long pods filled with sweet, cottony white pulp surrounding dark seeds. The flavor is mild, vanilla-like, and naturally creamy. The pulp is eaten fresh and used as a natural dessert across South and Central America.

🌱 In the garden:
Inga edulis is a fast-growing tropical tree with lush foliage and nitrogen-fixing roots that improve soil health. It is a perfect tree for a quick shade solution in just one season. While large in the ground, it can be managed with pruning in home orchards.

It has been used since the time of the Aztecs for coughs and colds. Tastes great, can be used by diabetic patients. We add this herb to Karkade or Mint tea as a sweetener. Shade or semi-shade.

Luckily, Lisa now has her wonderful sweet home in Sweden, so unfortunately for those who fell in love with her, she is not adoptable. But Lisa's life story wasn't all that sweet and simple! Rather thrilling and adventurous. So we decided to share her story with you...

"...Lisa, who illustrated our story about Skogkatt Cat Breed, lives with my daughter Vanda, along with her family: husband Vitaly and two children - Max and Maria. They live in Sweden. Lisa is 13 years old now. About 10 years ago, Lisa had a heartbreaking adventure almost ended with a tragedy... But luckily, she made it through. However, since then, she can't jump high and sometimes walks funny, sways and limps... And here's what happened..."
