Clerodendrum minahassae (minahasse), Fountain Clerodendrum -eautiful free branching shrub with clusters of white fragrant flowers, resembling fountain. Fast growing. Rare plant. Another spelling: Clerodendrum minahasse.

Dwarf Ylang-Ylang, small tree or shrub with highly scented flowers. This is one of the most desired and sought after rare fragrant plants. It is pretty easy to grow, stays compact and in nice tree-like shape. Flowers smell as great as full size Ylang Ylang tree, although sometimes fragrance may be less intense and requires warm and humid conditions for full aroma. The plant blooms year round providing warm conditions. It can be also grown as a container and a house plant, but keep in mind it requires bright light for profuse flowering.
This plant is seasonally sensitive: during cooler months leaves may drop or get yellow/dark spots. New leaves will regrow with warm temperatures (above 70F). It is still available for purchase but do not order if leaves appearance matters to you.

What to do with a Dragon fruit?

Lignum Vitae, Tree of Life, Gaiac tree. This tree is sometimes referred to as the "tree of life" because of its many uses. Abundant flowers range in color from purple to blue, it is the national flower of Jamaica. Rare and slow growing small tree, hard to propagate.

Rare and hard to find species, with the largest wavy shaped flowers, Brunfelsia plicata (jamaicensis) is a fast-growing, small, erect, delightfully fragrant flowering shrub endemic to Jamaica. The sturdy, dark green leaves make a good background for the showy flowers. The creamy white flowers with long tubes and wavy margins are extremely fragrant after dark. Blooms fall to winter. It's a specimen plant. Perfect houseplant for a bright window.

Glorious Flower of Cuba. Bell flower, Glorious Flower of Cuba, White horse flower. Extremely rare plant. Luscious perfume of bell-like flowers, reminiscent of warm, creamy chocolate. One of very few tropical plants that tolerate alkaline soils!

Peacock flower lives up to its name with incredibly showy blossoms. Very uncommon pink flowering form. The flowers are bowl shaped, 2-3" across, with five crinkled, unequal red and orange petals, and ten prominent bright red stamens that extend way beyond the corolla. The flowers are borne in terminal clusters 8-10" tall throughout most of the year in tropical climates and in late summer and fall where frosts occur. Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours. Plant 1" deep. Bright light.

Phyllanthus acidus - Otaheite Gooseberry, Amlak - is very close related to Phyllanthus emblica (Amla, Amlaki), however it is much hardier plant. Known as amritphala in Sanskrit, which literally means the fruit of heaven or nectar fruit. It is so called because it is rich in many desirable properties, including medicinal.
Small to medium in size tree. Small tropical tree, to 20 feet. Fruits are borne in loose clusters, which hang from the tree trunk and main branches. Fruits are generally too tart for fresh eating but are esteemed for jellies, preserves and pastries. There are no commercial plantings; only in home gardens.
Amla fruit paste is a major ingredient of Chavyanprash, a popular Ayurvedic tonic. It is the richest source of vitamin C. Phyllanthus acidus is called Ari Nelli in Tamil, and the Phyllanthus emblica (Amlaki) is Muzhu Nelli in Tamil. Muzhu Nelli is even richer in Vitamin C etc.

Feijoa, Pineapple Guava, Guavasteen. The fruit emits a strong long-lasting perfume, even before it is fully ripe. The fruit have the best taste when pulp mixed with sugar - it tastes and smells somewhat like forest strawberries. Cold-hardy, tolerates freze, nice wind-protection shield for other tropical plants.

Brazilian candles. One of our most interesting shrubs. A vertical grower with green leaves and unusual dark pink and purple upright flowers with blue stamens that look like they are not fully opened. Flowers cover the whole plant sometimes. This plant excudes on stems and leaves, and after the liquid dries out, it leaves very attractive crystals, shining in the sunlight.

This is a terrestrial Orchid that can be grown in soil. It forms large clumps with inflorescences as tall as four feet bearing 10-20 fragrant flowers, opening up in succession. Sword shaped leaves develop as the tall inflorescens of white, rose and brown flowers reaches full bloom in the late spring. The species produces a new plant on a short bulb-like runner every year and flowers magnificently during March and April. It prefers shade and can take a long dry period before the flowering season.

Black Gold Jakfruit originated in Australia. The tree is vigorous and with regular pruning can be maintained at a height of 8-10 ft. The fruit is has narrow shape, weighting 14-20 lb. It has dark green color with sharp fleshy spines, which don't flatten upon maturity. The deep orange flesh is very soft, with strong flavor and aroma. The flesh easily removed from the fruit comparing to other cultivars. Fruit ripen in Fall in Florida.
