Monocostus uniflorus, Costus uniflorus. This is a soft and delicate small ginger growing with spiral stems and dark green, oval thick leaves which are about 2 inches to 2.5 inches long. Large, single lemon-yellow flowers emerge at the tip of stems of graceful texture spring from a spiraling cone.
