Let’s face it, most of us do not have a spicery in our homes. It is an archaic term meaning a repository of spices. I guess the spice rack is the closest thing we have now. Our spices and herbs come packaged in small glass, or more often plastic, containers with an easy shake lid. Do you ever wonder how long those spices and herbs have been sitting in those jars? The longer they sit, the less potent they are and the more you will use. Now, you could run down to your nearest herb shop to buy what you need and oftentimes it is very good; much better than what is in the little jar from the grocery store.
