🍴 Persimmon spoon pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 very ripe persimmons (astringent type, fully soft)
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Scoop the soft persimmon flesh into a blender and puree until smooth.
  2. Chill the puree in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes.
  3. Spoon into a bowl and top with plain yogurt.
  4. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon if desired and serve.

🍑 About the fruit:

Persimmon (Diospyros spp.) is a graceful, cold-hardy subtropical fruit tree native to China and widely grown across temperate and warm regions. The fruit is loved for its rich sweetness, often compared to honey and apricot. Persimmons are divided into astringent types, which must soften fully before eating, and non-astringent types, which can be enjoyed firm. The fruit is nutritious and commonly eaten fresh or used in desserts.

🌱 In the garden:

Persimmon trees are highly ornamental, with drooping branches, lush summer foliage, and dramatic fall color. They thrive in well-drained soils, tolerate alkaline conditions, and are hardy in USDA zones 7-10. Many varieties perform well in containers, making persimmon a beautiful and productive choice for both edible landscapes and patio gardens.

Collecting clerodendrums: big color, little effort

🎨 Collecting clerodendrums: big color, little effort

  • 🎨 Collector hook

If you love plants that look rare, unusual, and a little dramatic - but do not want high-maintenance divas - Clerodendrums belong in your collection.
Clerodendrums are a surprisingly diverse group of plants, ranging from flowering vines to shrubs and even small trees. What they all share is bold, colorful blooms and an easygoing nature that makes them far less fussy than they appear. This combination of exotic looks and forgiving care is exactly why collectors gravitate toward them.
Many clerodendrums bloom repeatedly through the year in warm climates, and several tolerate lower light better than most flowering plants. That makes them flexible - happy in the garden, in containers, on patios, or even indoors near a bright window. Their flowers come in striking combinations of red, white, blue, pink, and purple, often with unusual shapes that stop people mid-walk.
  • 🎨 Why clerodendrums earn collector status

  • ✦ Uncommon, eye-catching flowers
  • ✦ Long or repeat bloom cycles in many varieties
  • ✦ Vines, shrubs, and small trees in one genus
  • ✦ Excellent performance in containers
  • ✦ More tolerant of lower light than expected

🎨 Clerodendrum care made simple

Give clerodendrums bright filtered light to partial sun, regular watering with good drainage, and light feeding during active growth. A little pruning keeps them tidy and encourages fresh blooms. That is it. No complicated routines, no constant fixing.

For collectors who want maximum visual payoff without constant effort, clerodendrums deliver exactly what the title promises - big color, very little work.

🥭 What are the Condo Mangos? A Practical Guide.

  • 🟠 What Are Condo Mangos?

Condo Mangos, also known as dwarf mango trees, are perfect for small spaces. These trees can be grown in containers, making them ideal for balconies, greenhouses, or small suburban backyards. With proper care, they can be maintained at a manageable height of 6–10 feet through regular pruning. Some plant enthusiasts even manage growing Mango tree as an indoor plant!
  • 🟠 The term “Condo Mango”

“Condo Mango” refers to mango varieties that thrive in containers and are small by nature, allowing them to be easily kept even smaller with selective pruning.
  • 🟠 Size and Growth

Unlike traditional mango trees, Condo Mangos are compact. They naturally grow to around 6-10 feet, but with proper pruning, they can be kept small, making them an excellent choice for limited space.
  • 🟠 Growing in Containers

· Condo Mango trees thrive in pots and containers.
  • · A 15-20 gallon pot is ideal to give the roots enough room to grow.
  • · Ensure your container has drainage holes to prevent root rot.

🟠 Planting Tips

  • · Plant Condo Mangos in full sun, where they’ll get plenty of heat and light.
  • · Use well-draining soil for optimal growth.
  • · Fertilizer regularly with quality plant food. Out best choice is Sunshine Mango Tango for edibles.
  • · Late Winter to early Spring is the best time to plant in containers, before the rainy season starts.
  • · Mangoes grow well in USDA zones 9-10, but if you live in cooler climates, you can grow them indoors or in a greenhouse, as long as you meet their heat and light needs.

🟠 Pruning and Maintenance

  • · Prune Condo Mango trees once a year to keep them at the desired height (6–10 feet), right after harvesting (late Summer to Fall)
  • · Trim the tips of the branches to maintain a compact shape and encourage healthy growth.
  • · Regular pruning will help keep the tree manageable and ensure better fruit production.
