Variegated Spiral Ginger. Originally from South America, this ginger is very popular in Hawaii and Florida. The actual name is C. arabicus variegata and it is labeled Costus amazonicus variegata almost everywhere. Spiraling stems rise with a strong white variegation and topped with elegant pure white flowers with yellow centers. Takes both sun and shade, moist soil and lots of water.
This is a spectacular addition to your shade garden!

Elite Gold are a juicy, white flesh pineapple with a soft center. This cultivar boasts a high sugar content with no acid. Grows only 2-3 ft high making it an excellent container plant that can even be grown in cold areas and brought indoors for the winter. All around great cultivar.

Florida Special is a classic Florida-bred pineapple developed by the Libby fruit company for commercial production. At one time, over 240 acres were planted in Immokalee, Florida, making this variety a real piece of Florida pineapple history before Libby later sold to Nestle.
This variety produces golden-fleshed fruit with excellent, well-balanced flavor - sweet, juicy, and low in fiber. The plant is compact and attractive, forming a low rosette of spiky leaves, which makes it ideal for containers, patios, or small garden spaces. Under warm conditions, it typically fruits within 12-18 months.
One of its standout traits is its resilience. Ripening fruit has shown the ability to tolerate drops into the mid-30s°F without internal damage, which is a valuable advantage in Florida's unpredictable winter weather.
Grow in full sun for best fruiting and use fast-draining soil, since pineapples do not like sitting wet. Water lightly and allow the soil to dry between watering. Protect from frost and prolonged cold.
Florida Special is a reliable, easy-to-grow pineapple that combines great flavor, compact size, and a bit of Florida growing heritage - a rewarding addition to your garden.
Florida Special is typically a spiny type, meaning the leaf edges have small saw-like teeth. They are not huge or aggressive, but you will feel them when handling the plant, especially along the margins and near the tips.

SugarLoaf is low acid pineapple originated from West Africa and has a mildly sweet flavor and an edible core. The variety is much thinner, taller and heavier in weight for its size than a regular golden pineapple; it has a dark green skin even when ripe and a creamy white interior fruit. Planted outside in tropical zones or as a patio/indoor plant in the north, Sugarloaf is a leading worldwide commercial variety. Self fruitful. Large pointed top, smooth leaf with serratted edge. Sugarloaf can can reach 10 pounds! White flesh. Even the core is edible. Also called Kona Sugarloaf. Excellent flavor, pretty plant and fruit.

Spectacular bloomer! With foliage resembling an Orchid Cactus (Epiphyllum), Blue Flame is a rare epiphyte from the rainforests of the Amazon jungle. This is a spineless tropical cactus that blooms bright purple flowers. Flowers emerge along the leaf edges from late spring through early summer, and blooms for a couple of weeks. Early springtime flowers are magenta, but summer flowers have the distinctive blue tip on the magenta flower. Mature leaves are about 12" long. Blue Flame prefers a hot, humid environment similar to its jungle habitat. Grow in porous cactus soil or Adenium Mix in partial sun to bright, indirect light.

Barleria oenotheroides is a broadleaf evergreen perennial shrub with dark green, tropical looking foliage. In summer showy yellow flowers emerge and may cover the whole plant. Attracts bees, butterflies and hummingbirds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well in both shade or sun and regular water. Does well in average, rich and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and humidity tolerant.

Beautiful striped red-and-white flowers are highly fragrant. Fragrance is the most intense you can imagine and is much better than all jasmines and gardenias all together.
The plant is very similar to plumeria in growth habit (and is close related to Plumeria). It grows into a small tree. Unlike Plumeria, it is evergreen in warm climate.
Beautiful mauve colored leaves are very ornamental.
Slow growing, compact plant, great for containers. Very undemanding and has low water needs.
This amazing flower was recommended to us by our friend horticulturist John Mood, he discovered it in Thailand.

This Thailand species has a lovely light fragrance with a strong and vigorous growth habit similar to Hoya carnosa. The umbel of flowers is about 3" wide and boasts tiny maroon stars with white frosted edges. The leaves are dark green with silver white flecks and darker accented green veining. It's a strong grower that likes to ramble so provide support with a trellis or stake to help manage its wandering ways.
