XANTHOSTEMON

Golden Penda (Xanthostemon chrysanthus) is one of Australia's most spectacular yet hardest-to-find flowering trees. Its dazzling clusters of fragrant golden flowers resemble miniature fireworks, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds for months during the cooler season. New foliage emerges rich copper-red before maturing to glossy green, adding color even when the tree isn't in bloom. Naturally compact with an attractive upright habit, Golden Penda is perfect for containers, patios, and small gardens, and responds beautifully to pruning. Even more impressive, it can begin flowering at a very young age under warm conditions. Easy to grow in frost-free climates and surprisingly resilient once established, this rare Australian beauty is sure to become the centerpiece of your tropical garden.
