It was named after Angie Whitman, wife of Bill Whitman and a trustee of the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Fruit is yellow to orange in color at maturity, and average about 1 lb. The fruit is oblong and saffron yellow with Indian orange blush on the sun-exposed shoulders. The skin is smooth and without visible lenticels. The flesh is tangerine orange and without fiber.
