Ceriops tagal (Spurred Mangrove) is a small tree species that grows to a height of 10-20 feet with a spread of 8-10 feet. It has dark green and glossy, narrow leaves with a pointed tip. The small white flowers are fragrant, and the green fruit is round and fleshy.

This species is native to Southern Africa and can also be found in Southeast Asia, Sri Lanka, Southern India, and Australia.
