Synonym: Lonchocarpus capassa. Apple Leaf, Rain Tree, Mupandapanda. Medium-sized rare exotic tree from Tanzania and Namibia. Purple to mauve flowers in pendulous sprays are sweetly scented. Lush foliage looks very tropical. Relatively hardy tree, tolerates poor soils, grows well in sandy soils.
