Native to western Asia, this Pomegranate has it all: naturally dwarfing, beautiful red fruit, small edible seeds, and is consistently rated the most flavorful pomegranate in tasting trials. Great for juicing or fresh eating, producing heavy crops at a young age. Can grow up to 10 feet, but can easily be kept at six to seven feet with pruning. It has extremely showy red/orange flowers followed by large fruit. The fruit is quite large and highly colored in beautiful bright red. The arils are large and bright red with a very small, soft, edible seed. Vigorous upright plant sets a heavy crop dependably. Requires 100 to 200 chill hours. Self-fruitful.

The variety Salavatski is also known as Russian-Turk. Very large red fruit, with red arils and sweet/tart juice. It is extremely cold hardy, imported from Afghanistan to the USDA Station in Byron, GA. Has survived -6F in Georgia, so could be grown as far north as coastal New York and New Jersey. Russian pomegranates survived winters where the popular Wonderful variety was killed to the ground.

The fruit that the Sirenevyi produces when mature is soft-seeded, sweet, and spicy. The exterior of the fruit is speckled red and tan or pink and the interior is dark red. Arils are dark purple (Sirenevyi means "purple" in Russian).
