Miguel Avocado is B Flower, Guatemalan-West Indies Mix. The variety has a decent crop, very productive, averaged 275 lbs per tree. A good looking fruit. Never any disease on the tree and fruit, it stays very clean.

Its texture is buttery and creamy, with very little acidity and a tropical, almost caramel-like sweetness. Originally selected in the Chiapas region of Mexico, Ataulfo is one of the most widely grown commercial mangos due to its reliable production and excellent eating quality. Rhaphidophora hayi, also known as the Shingle Plant (the same common name shared with Monstera dubia), is one of the most unique climbing houseplants you can grow. Instead of producing split leaves like its famous relative, the Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma), this species climbs by anchoring itself with aerial roots and pressing its glossy green leaves flat against a wooden board or moss pole, creating a beautiful wall of overlapping foliage that looks almost painted onto the surface. It grows best on a porous support where its roots can naturally attach, gradually forming a stunning vertical display several feet tall. The Story says: "Catalina is an amazing avocado floated across from Cuba, 60 years ago just before Fidel Castro took over the Island Nation. Wise Cubans jumped into the ocean to escape the Castro regime and tossed in some favorite scions for us to enjoy here in the States. We owe a great debt to poor old Don Miguel Cruz de la Santa Maria Espinoza Sanchez Alvarez Jr. who sadly was lost at sea. His amazing scion wood, wrapped in cellophane and aluminum foil floated over, washing a shore on Miami Beach. His shiny little package was miraculously picked up on the shoreline and immediately grafted and cared for by keen eyed avocado lovers in Miami". So be sure to think about this story every time you eat a Catalina!
Catalina is a very nice mid-season pear shaped fruit that is especially rich and creamy. It is extremely popular variety in South Florida in the Cuban Community.

Fantastic. Very cold hardy variety, supposedly the most most cold hardy of all avocados. Produces green, paper thin skin. The fruit has a creamy texture.
It survived temperatures around 10F near San Antonio, Texas (Zone 8b). Can take temperatures down to 15F for short period of time without significant damage.

Oro Negro means black gold in Spanish, which is an incredibly appropriate name for this fruit. It originates from Miami-Dade County, Florida and has great potential for dooryard or commercial use. It is likely a Monroe seedling having a similar shape and season, but probably crossed with a Mexican type which would explain the black skin. The flesh is rich and buttery with a creamy texture that is sure not to disappoint.

Russell Avocado. The Russell is easily identifiable by it's long gourd-like shape. It's smooth buttery flavor makes it one of Florida's most popular dooryard varieties, especially within Latin communities.

Butter Cup, Cup of gold. Striking vine with glossy leaves and large showy white to yellow flowers.The flowers are truly spectacular, shaped like a chalice, 6-10" long, flaring open to 4-7" across. The five lobes of the corolla are reflexed, and each lobe is marked with a narrow purplish brown ridge on the inside. The flowers start out yellow and turn deeper golden as they age. They are fragrant, especially at night, with a scent reminiscent of coconut. Cup of gold blooms intermittently through the year, but mainly in the winter dry season.

This Spathoglottis is gorgeous. The flower buds come in a range of warm colors, yellow, red, orange and brown in a tie dye like effect. Once the flowers open up, bright yellow sits on all the petals and sepals, outlined in pinkish red. These gorgeous flowers bloom off of a tall inflorescence and stick around for a long period of time, blooming frequently one after the other Spring through Autumn.

Loose clusters of pale pink flowers with golden blotch bloom on wiry stems. Broadly ribbed, iris-like leaves. Hardy and easy to grow!

If you need a compact, pretty flowering plant for shade garden - this is a perfect one! This handsome perennial native to Cuba, Mexico to Central America, is from Acanthus Family. It has pretty bell-shaped flowers, white with a pinking-purple lip, contrasting with dark foliage. Anyone would be happy to grow it right outside the door! It can be maintained as a low growing border plant or grow into a bush. Low water needs once established. Shade to filtered light preferable but can take full sun as well providing enough watering. Bravaisia berlandieriana is also used medicinally. Undemanding, fast growing and cold tolerant.

Super rare ginger with strawberry pink flowers. The edible flowers have pleasant, spicy fragrance and flavor. This rare specimen plant is from the collection of Mark Hooten. It has bright coral-like flowers, and finally bloomed for us in January 2025. We will be posting more pictures soon.
Species close related to Burbidgea. Riedelia coralina is so rare that published information about this species and photos are extremely hard to find. Most references to it appear in specialized collector circles rather than in widely available horticultural or botanical literature.

Winter Mexican variety is one of most cold hardy varieties, Guatemalan x Mexican origin. Mature trees may withstand temperatures in the mid 20s. Oblong fruit, 12 to 18 Oz, thick green skin, medium seed. Tree bears in December-January. Very vigorous tree, bears heavily and regularly.

Yamagata variety is very early. It ripens in Florida in March-April when no other varieties produce fruit. Fruit is large, pear-shaped, with a small seed and green skin. It is a very fine, gourmet Hawaiian avocado named for agriculture specialist Heiji Yamagata, who develeoped it. According to University of Hawaii consumer poll, Yamagata was selected as one of the best Hawaiian cultivars. Medium to low cold hardiness. Very vigorous and upright growing tree.

The Reed avocado was named after James S. Reed in California. It has been around since the late 1940's. The fruit is large, weighing over a pound and round in shape. It has a large seed, but plenty of edible flesh. The skin remains green even when ripe. It is described by some as the best tasting avocado, buttery, bold, rich and nutty with an oil content of about 20%. It is a type A avocado, but fruits consistently year after year without other avocado trees around. It has an upright growth habit and can be kept to around 15 feet with pruning. The branches do tend to droop horizontally. It is not considered a cold hardy variety and will suffer leaf damage below freezing with some damage to small branch tips at 26 degrees F. The tree flowers in May/June and the fruit is best left on the tree for over a year until the following summer all the way into October.

This is a very rare spectacular species of Plumbago from India. It has bright scarlet red flowers and prefers shade locations. Perfect for shade garden that needs some color, and for container and indoor culture.
