An evergreen, woody climber, distributed in tropical forests, riverine habitats and in disturbed areas from Mexico to South America. It presets simple, opposite, lanceolate, glossy green leaves, tubular, white-greenish flowers and large, reddish-brown bean-like pods, that can reach up to 20 cm in length.
