A medium size tree, drought tolerant. Used in Brazilian folk medicine for different purposes: the leaves are used as diuretic, the stems as anti-inflammatory, the bark and aerial parts are used for healingskin wounds, pimples, and for vaginal washes. Also was assayed for antifungal properties.
