Native to India and Sri Lanka, an interesting Garcinia, used both as an ornamental for its interesting, glossy foliage and for colorful fruits that have medicinal properties. The orange-yellow fruits are extremely popular with tropical birds. Tolerant of salty conditions and ocean spray. Grows well in full or filtered sun. The tree is very adaptable to container culture. Features thick, slender, glossy and ornamental leaves. Very slow growing.
