Hoffmannia ghiesbreghtii, Campylobotrys ghiesbreghtii - Taffeta Plant, Strawberry Splash. This spectacular tender tropical with lush foliage is growing up to 5-6 ft or more in its native habitat of Guatemala and Mexico. In cultivation it is much smaller and makes an excellent house plant. It is tolerant of both full sun and semi-shade. The foliage is its main ornamental feature. The dark velvety green leaves on the upper side, and red-purple underneath, give the plant a distinct and attractive look. The star-shaped yellow flowers with red spots are quite attractive too.
