Matsumoto is slightly larger and rounder than Fuyu. Non-astringent. Ripens slightly earlier in Late-October to Mid-November. Excellent variety, both for commercial and backyard production. Matsumoto is a moderate growing tree and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 6A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 10 feet to 12 feet and an average width of 10 feet to 15 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted soil that is well drained. It is resistant to drought, insects, diseases and heat.
