Banana Crush (or Banana Crunch) is a hard to find variety, part of a handful of varieties called "easy peal" Jackfruits. Very little to no latex and easy to get into. No knife needed, just use your hands to open. Banana Crush has cream colored, extra crunchy flesh, with a nice clean green skin, and low latex. Typically weighs about 20lbs. The interior of the fruit consists of large edible bulbs of creamy, sweet, banana-flavored aromatic flesh that encloses a smooth seed. Cooked green, the fruit can be used as a vegetable. It can be boiled, fried, grilled, roasted, or prepared with sauces. The ripe fruit tastes like a combination of mango, banana, pineapple, and cantaloupe. The tree is large by nature, can be pruned annually to 12 x 12 producing as much as 200 lbs of fruit per year.
