Three shades of gold, one legendary bloom

Three shades of gold, one legendary bloom
🏆Three shades of gold, one legendary bloom
  • 🏆 Adenium Thong Samsee has flowers at different stages on the same plant - from pink to yellow and white, creating the impression of a whole garden in bloom!

  • 🏆 The name Thong Samsee comes from the Thai language and consists of three words:

  • Thong (ทอง) = "gold"
    Sam (สาม) = "three"
    See (สี) = "color"

Thus, Thong Samsee can be translated as "three golden colors" or "golden triple coloration", or simply "three-color".

  • 🏆 This name refers to the variety's unique trait: its flowers go through three color stages - from soft yellow to pink and nearly white - creating the impression of multiple shades on one plant.

  • 🏆 In Thai culture, the word (ทอง) - "gold" - symbolizes wealth and prosperity, while the number three can be associated with harmony and completeness. Therefore, the name of the variety may carry a wish for beauty and good fortune.

Want that iconic fat base? Here's the trick:

Every time you repot, raise the plant slightly to expose more of the upper roots. This encourages downward root growth and thickens the caudex over time. Just use a well-draining mix, water only when dry, and feed with Sunshine Megaflor Booster to support both blooming and trunk growth.

💩 Which fertilizer to use: Organic or Inorganic?

ℹ️ Fertilizers help plants grow. They give plants nutrients they need. There are two types of fertilizers:

🐮 Organic Fertilizers:
  • · Made from natural materials: compost, manure, plant waste.
  • · Good for the soil and environment.
  • · Release nutrients slowly, which helps plants over time.

Inorganic Fertilizers:
  • · Made from chemicals in factories.
  • · Can give plants quick nutrients.
  • · Might harm the soil and environment over time.

⏺Pros of Organic Fertilizers:
  • · Better for the health of the soil.
  • · Helps good microorganisms live in the soil.
  • · Safer for pets and kids.

  • 🔴Cons of Inorganic Fertilizers:

· Can cause pollution.
· Might make soil unhealthy if used too much.

🟢 Sunshine Boosters is your ultimate solution:
  • based on organic fertilizers (organic amino-acids).
  • help plants grow strong and healthy without harming the environment.
  • make the soil better, support friendly bugs, and are safe for everyone.
  • Using Sunshine Boosters means you’re taking care of your plants and the planet!

Organic or inorganic fertilizers, which is best?

A very smart article by Fedor, Mike, and Ed

Colorful garden

Q: Which one is better - organic or inorganic fertilizer?

A: When it comes to fertilizer, gardeners always wonder if one better than the other. Does a total organic fertilizer make sense for you? Is it easier to just use a cheap granular fertilizer a few times per year? You may be surprised to learn that there is one fertilizer that has advantages over both!

While organic fertilizers may be all the rage, there is the difference between Sunshine Boosters fertilizers, organic and inorganic fertilizers. Sunshine Boosters fertilizers have been especially developed to provide optimal conditions for cultivating crops in pots and greenhouses. These specialized nutrient blends are essential in order to maintain an appropriate environment for successful crop production, as they compensate for the lack of natural beneficial bacteria and nitrifying organisms which are specific to open soil cultivation.

Growing Adeniums: A Beginners Guide

Cat with adenium flowers

Q: How to you keep Adenium happy and blooming like on the pictures?

A: Adeniums, also known as Desert Roses, are exotic and striking plants that can bring beauty to any indoor or outdoor garden. Despite their desert origins, they require a bit of care to thrive. Here's a simple guide to help you grow healthy and vibrant adeniums:

Light and Location: Adeniums prefer filtered light, although they can tolerate full sun. In hot climates, they thrive in bright, indirect light. Position your plant accordingly to ensure optimal growth.

Potting and Soil: Use a small pot with excellent drainage to prevent waterlogging. Opt for a well-draining soil mix specifically designed for adeniums or create your own mix using cactus mix with added limestone for slightly alkaline conditions.

Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering, which can lead to caudex rot. Water in the early morning and ensure the plant drinks up throughout the day.

Fertilization: Use a liquid fertilizer with high phosphate content to encourage both caudex growth and flowering. Apply according to label instructions, avoiding direct contact with the caudex. We recommend Sunshine Megaflor.

Caring for the Caudex: To promote a large swollen caudex, gradually raise the plant each time you repot it, exposing the upper roots. This encourages the formation of additional roots.

Maintenance and Blooming: Adeniums typically bloom from spring through fall. Ensure they receive ample light for heavy flowering. Avoid wetting the leaves and apply fertilizer to support overall plant health.

By following these simple steps, you can enjoy the beauty of adeniums in your own garden or home. With proper care and attention, your Desert Roses will flourish and delight you with their stunning blooms.
