Medium sized tree with leaves slightly broader than long. Flowers small, barely 2.5 cm across, in lax terminal panicle. Prefers a fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil and a position in full sun.Tolerates poor, stony ground. The clear gum obtained from cuts in the bark is used in sweetmeat manufacture.
