Michael Dubinovsky

Michael Dubinovsky is the co-founder of Top Tropicals LLC and leads the technical and operational development of the company. He is responsible for the systems behind Top Tropicals e-commerce platform and the Online Plant Encyclopedia, which documents thousands of tropical and subtropical plant species.

With a background in engineering and software development, Michael designs and maintains the internal tools used to organize plant data, manage taxonomy, publish images, and support advanced search and filtering across the site. These systems are developed in-house to handle the scale and complexity of the encyclopedia, store, and editorial systems used to organize, publish, and maintain plant information

At Top Tropicals, he works closely with horticultural experts, editors, and growers to ensure that plant information remains accurate, traceable, and useful to home gardeners. He also oversees site infrastructure, security, and long-term data integrity.

Together with Tatiana Anderson, Michael helped grow Top Tropicals from a small backyard project into a nationally recognized source of tropical and subtropical plant information.

Outside of Top Tropicals, Michael is also the founder of MD Optical Design, an independent optical engineering firm focused on advanced optical systems and design consulting.
