Native to the tropical Americas, the White Trumpet Tree (Tabebuia roseoalba) is an ornamental small tree reaching 10-20 ft in height. Its deep olive-green foliage provides a stunning backdrop for its stunning starlike blooms when they appear in late winter and early spring. The blooms of Tabebuia roseoalba are borne in clusters of white to off-white and are sure to turn heads in any garden.

In terms of growing, Tabebuia roseoalba favors warm climates and, as such, performs best in USDA Zones 9-11. Its ideal growing conditions are full sun, as well as moderate water. In order to ensure its best performance, the soil should not be permitted to dry out completely.

In colder climates, Tabebuia roseoalba can still be enjoyed in containers that are moved indoors in autumn. Homeowners living in cold regions should select a large pot, providing extra insulation to the roots in winter. The soil should be kept evenly moist at all times, but use care not to overwater, which can cause root rot. Protecting the roots from wind exposure is important for winter protection, as well as preventing dehydration.

In addition to being a show-stopper visually, the White Trumpet Tree attracts both butterflies and hummingbirds when in bloom. With its ability to fill any space with its arching branches and gorgeous flowers, it is an ideal choice for home gardens. And, with its moderate requirements and easy-care, hobbyist gardeners need not worry about any complicated maintenance practices.
