According to other sources, belongs to Family Schlegeliaceae or Family Bignoniaceae. The delimitation of Bignoniaceae and Scrophulariaceae has long been a taxonomic problem. Schlegelia also has a scrophulariaceous seed morphology. Considered anomalous in the Bignoniaceae, the Schlegelieae similarly are distinct in the Scrophulariaceae.
