Lobostemon belliformis is native to South Africa. More than 80 percent of its habitat has been lost to mining since 1980 and the remaining area is not conserved. This species is therefore regarded as critically endangered.Lobostemon belliformis produces numerous pink flowers, which can range from red to crimson to vinous colors. The flowers are quite attractive and are known to attract butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators. The plant's ethnomedical uses include treating fever, diarrhea, and malaria. It is also used to treat eye conditions.

Lobostemon belliformis is best grown in USDA Zone 9-11. When grown in the colder regions, the plant should be grown in a pot and brought indoors for the winter. For best results, grow in well-drained sandy soil in warm, sunny areas. If grown in a pot, the plant should be pruned regularly to maintain its shape. Additionally, a layer of mulch should be applied to help retain moisture.
