Grevillea hybrids are evergreen shrubs from Australia that combine ornamental foliage with long-lasting clusters of spider-like flowers. They are valued for attracting birds, adapting to a range of garden soils, and providing year-round color in warm climates. Many hybrids involve Grevillea banksii, which contributes vigor and abundant bloom. They thrive in well-drained soil, tolerate drought once established, and prefer full sun. Most are hardy in USDA Zones 9-11, withstanding light frost to around 25-30F.

'Robyn Gordon' is a compact and free-flowering hybrid between Grevillea banksii and Grevillea bipinnatifida. It forms a dense shrub about 5 feet tall with soft feathery grey-green foliage and clusters of red to crimson flowers that appear almost continuously. This cultivar is especially popular for its reliability, extended blooming season, and appeal to nectar-feeding birds. The hybrid was bred by Dave Gordon at Myall Park Botanic Garden in Queensland, Australia, and named after his daughter Robyn, with other cultivars in the series honoring her sisters.
