Hardy and easy to grow to the point of becoming an invasive weed in some areas.

Moisture: Moderately drought tolerant. Needs supplemental watering only during prolonged dry periods. Glossy privet thrives in any soil as long as it's not constantly wet. Propagation: Softwood cuttings root easily. Grows readily from seeds. The fruit is mildly toxic. Although no other reports of toxicity have been seen for this species, it is quite probable that other parts of the plant also contain toxins.
