Plumeria tuberculata (Plumeria)
Botanical name: Plumeria tuberculata
Common name: Plumeria
Family: Apocynaceae

Plumeria tuberculata is a fast-growing, large shrub or small tree that can reach heights of five to ten feet tall. It has a beautiful, rough trunk with white to off-white, fragrant flowers that appear in the summer and last until frost. If pollinated, the flowers will produce fruit in the shape of a bean pod.
Plumeria is a tropical plant that loves full sun and moderate water, although they are drought tolerant once established. It prefers rich, well-draining soil and benefits from regular applications of fertilizer. While this variety is not considered to be thorny or spiny, many varieties are and should be placed away from walkways and patios.
This deciduous plant is cold hardy, at least to 30°F for short periods of time, and is USDA zone hardy from 9-12. In colder regions, Plumeria can be grown in pots and brought in for the winter, or planted in the ground and protected from frost. While potted, Plumeria must be in full sun and given plenty of water during the longer days of summer. In autumn, water should be cut down and the plant should be moved indoors when necessary. Careful watering be done throughout the wintertime.
