A breathtaking beauty, Alocasia odora is excellent for creating a lush tropical look to gardens. Resembling large Elephant ears, these brilliant leaves are wonderfully fragrant, most particuarly at night. These plants are mainly valued for their gorgeous leaves, which are very large, heart-shaped, but they also produce small, calla-like fragrant flower spathes.
Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings. Very high moisture needs; suitable for bogs and water gardens.

Oro Negro means black gold in Spanish, which is an incredibly appropriate name for this fruit. It originates from Miami-Dade County, Florida and has great potential for dooryard or commercial use. It is likely a Monroe seedling having a similar shape and season, but probably crossed with a Mexican type which would explain the black skin. The flesh is rich and buttery with a creamy texture that is sure not to disappoint.

New rare variety Ulala (Uhlala, Uh-La-La, Super Hass). Cold hardy variety that can take temperatures down to 18F for short period of time without significant damage. The fruit is black skinned, with smooth texture. Seed is very small.

Yamagata variety is very early. It ripens in Florida in March-April when no other varieties produce fruit. Fruit is large, pear-shaped, with a small seed and green skin. It is a very fine, gourmet Hawaiian avocado named for agriculture specialist Heiji Yamagata, who develeoped it. According to University of Hawaii consumer poll, Yamagata was selected as one of the best Hawaiian cultivars. Medium to low cold hardiness. Very vigorous and upright growing tree.

Lady of the Night. Very fragrant at night! The most vigorous variety, good for sun or shade. Waxy thick leaves, relatively cold hardy, profuse bloomer.

Calliandra tergemina (var. emarginata Nana) - Dwarf Powderpuff - dwarf everblooming variety. Drought tolerant, easy to grow plant. It stays very short 2-3 ft tall, gets dense and bushy, no pruning needed.

Blue Butterfly Clerodendrum - fast growing showy shrub with bright blue butterfly-like flowers. Attracting butterflies too! Very easy to grow and fast growing.

Governors plum, Madagascar Plum, Batoko palm - is a tropical or subtropical small shrubby tree. It is cultivated in tropical regions as a hedge plant and for its deep red acid fruits resembling small plums. The fruits are about one inch wide and can be eaten fresh or made into preserves. They are sweet and sour, with a texture and flavor similar to a plum. Fruits mature after one to two months from flowering.
The tree is easy to grow, self-fertile and doesn't require much care, not fussy about soil and very forgiving if you forget to water it.
Seeds germinate readily, but it takes a while until the seedling is ready to be transplanted into a big pot or in the ground, a few months.

Also called "First Love" (sometimes misspelled as YAshioka), this cultivar is one of the darkest green of all gardenias, it has a 3 to 5 inch bloom so perfect, it looks artificial. It was developed by Tadaoki Yoshioka while he lived in Hawaii, and he later brought it to Florida when he moved to Ft. Lauderdale with his family in 1954. The gardenia was named after his daughter, Aimee (Aimee Hironaka), who died in a plane crash in Dallas on August 2, 1985 (Delta Flight 191).
Aimee gardenia grows openly and upright and blooms twice a year and slightly later than others. Flower Size 3 - 5".

Fire Bush, full size variety. Grows into a small tree. Small, tubular red-orange flowers. Pruning inhibits the blooms, which appear at the ends of the branches. One of the best butterfly attractors.

This rare plant originates from Papua New Guinea and was first described in 1913. The flower is very fragrant and can infuse your entire house in a beautiful lilac scent. This vigorous grower makes a perfect houseplant with velvety leaves and fragrant white flowers sporting red centers. Each flower is almost 1" wide and they are borne in clusters that appear when the day length shortens in fall and winter. It can be grown in a pot with a trellis or in a hanging basket. The sweet scent of the flowers fills the air when Hoya calycina is in bloom.

Thornless variety Taiwan. The thornless Indian jujube, sweet and it is crisp like an apple. Indian Jujube, Chinese Date - The fruits have medicinal use and are considered to be cooling and tonic. Grafted plants, fruiting size.
These small acid fruits are liked by children as well as by adults. A small spreading tree, with drooping branches grows readily and quickly on poor ground. Even moderately saline soils are tolerated. The tree will thrive without any special care. All parts of the plant have medicinal uses. Jujube is widely cultivated China and India. The Chinese have been growing and eating jujubes for more than four thousand years and have more jujube trees than any other type of fruit tree.

Longan Sri Champoo - superior variety with pinkish fruit.
Longan is a medium sized tree from China, it can be pruned to maintain a small tree size. This lychee relative has stiffer leaves, more wind resistance and fruits more prolifically and regularly than its famous cousin. The flesh is sweet and is usually eaten fresh but can be canned or dried. The crisp skin is easy to remove and the white flesh has a texture and sweetness reminiscent of litchi.

Kalimantan Mango, Kasturi - The flesh of this fruit is orange in color and the texture stringy with a unique sweet fragrance. If we compare the Kasturi with the Mango (Mangifera indica), the Kasturi tastes less sweet but has a stronger taste and has a softer aroma.

This Indian / Indo-Chinese hybrid fruits consistently every year. It is a Haden seedling, and much like the Haden it is a Florida favorite. It has a very attractive appearance with a mild, very sweet flavor. The fruit is virtually fiberless. Excellent eating quality, consistent production, and effortless to grow. It is easy to determine when to pick because the fruit will turn yellow at its base. Relatively cold hardy variety. The seed is elongated.

Thai mango, longer like Nam Doc Mai, eaten green crispy, sweet, eaten ripe yellow (soft, fiberless)

Commonly referred to as The Queen of Mangos. This Indian mango is often compared to the Alphonso with a sweet taste, and its small golden fruit are enjoyed raw and ripe. Fruiting season is May to July.

O-15 is a brand new variety just released! It is so new that still has the experimental name as you see! But those who tried it, say that it may be the best mango they ever tasted!
I was bred from Jakarta seedling. It is a medium-sized mango, ovately shaped and turning yellow at maturity. The flesh is fiberless, yellow, and firm. The flavor is excellent, highly resinous, reminiscent of Jakarta but probably sweeter, belonging in the Indian/West Indian flavor class. The original tree is productive, and the fruit tend to ripen in a very short span, only a couple weeks!

'Okrung' is an excellent Thai cultivar introduced to Florida in 1973. Thai-cultivar, green-yellow fruit eaten while green. The fruit is traditionally served in Thailand in combination with sticky rice. One of the most popular varieties in Thailand. The fruit is very sweet, with the highest sugar content of any mango tested in Florida. It has a strong Indo-Chinese flavor and is somewhat fibrous. The fruit are small, hand in clusters and drop off the tree when ripe.

Orange Sherbet (Orange sorbet) is new variety producing medium size bright yellow fruit when mature. Fruit weighs up to one pound. One of the best new varieties for backyard growing. Flesh has no fiber. Excellent sweet taste. Flavor is sweet citrus-orange and less lemony than Lemon Meringue mango. Tree is moderately vigorous.
