Ludwigia helminthorrhiza is found on the banks of rivers or lakes and can also be found in marshy areas. This floating plant is characterised by its distinctive aerial roots and strong root network, which provide a good hiding-place for young fish.

A very decorative plant in open aquariums, and also suitable for garden ponds in the summer.
