Evergreen tree or contained as a wide shrub, rather slow growing, 20 to 50 feet tall (6-15 m), 30 feet spread (9 m), round head; oval dark green leaves, with brown short fuzz on the underside, about 5 inches long (12 cm).Port Jackson fig, rusty leaved fig; gets its name from the rust-covered down which often coats the undersides of leaves.

Ficus rubiginosa is similar to Ficus obliqua.
