| Antidesma bunius Family: Phyllanthaceae Bignay, Bugnay Origin: Malaysia ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This evergreen tree bears male and female flowers on separate trees. The flowers have an unpleasant odor. Clusters of 20 to 30 red to black fruits are produced from July through September. The acidic fruits, greatly enjoyed by birds, may be used to make jams, jellies, and vine. The juce can stain fingers and clothing. Another related species - Antidesma platyphyllum. |
