Neoregelia ampullacea

small shrub 2-5 ft

Widely cultivated. The color of the center when flowering is variable from cerise to a deep crimson. It has lavender flowers deep in the cup. Tolerant of dry conditions but likes to be watered in its cup. Mist on hot dry days. See Bromeliad page.
