Dwarf Taro is a small species, growing only 1-2 feet tall. It produces bright green leaves with odd silver reflective centers in each leaf. It is an elegant aquatic perennial with arrow shaped leaves of soft velvet green with silver brocade centers from which tiny mercury rivers flow down veins to leaf edges for brilliant effect. Unlike most other elephant ears, this light shade- and moisture lover forms rounded patterned leaves of velvety medium green, each highlighted by a wide silver streak down the center vein with smaller silver veins radiating from the center to the leaf edge. The plants are adorned all summer with small yellow spathe and spadix flowers. It sends out runners from small thin shoots and makes a very nice tropical ground cover. The plant clumps and spreads in wet soils by means of short, above-ground stolons... quite unique and quite beautiful! It will grow in shallow water. Excellent in a container or as an addition to the moist garden. Very heavy feeder, fertilizing is a must for beautiful foliage. Ordering seeds info
