Princess flower - beautiful purple blooms and velvet leaves. This is a dwarf compact variety that gets very bushy and flowers profusely in full sun or filtered light.

Tibouchina Peace Baby is a new selection bred in Queensland, Australia and has been launched with great success on the global stage. It is one of the most compact forms of Tibouchina currently available, and is a stand out performer in gardens across the country. Large, clear white flowers with pink stamens adorn the plant throughout the warmer months providing stunning color for your garden. The bright vibrant flowers are significant both in size and in the number produced per plant, not uncommonly covering parts of the plant to the point that foliage is difficult to see. A dense and compact variety well suited to pots and containers. This variety is easy to grow.

Tillandsia disticha is native to Peru, Equador and Columbia where it grows in dry forests on trees and rocks. The plant has a bulbous base with wide sheathed foliage (at the base) which tapers towards the top, giving the foliage a grassy appearance. The foliage is grey at the base sheaths (with dark edging), and then tapers to a light green. This species develops a long, thin, yellow inflorescence spike which produces small, yellow flowers with a soft, sweet fragrance. After flowering the plant with produce pups from the base on stolons (stems).
Tillandsias, called by some the world's most unusual airplants, are a delightful addition to any greenhouse. They are easy to care for, exotic to look at, and interesting to study. Tillandsias have developed the ability to take all their food and water through specially designed cells on their leaves and therefore can exist without any roots for ever. Roots are used by most species to attach themselves and nothing more. Tillandsias can grow in places no other plants can survive including electrical cable on power lines. They prefer light airy conditions and daily misting in areas of low humidity.
Kept as a houseplant, Tillandsias can be added to a glass terrarium or a sea shell planter. They are commonly attached to a piece of wood or hung from a wire air plant display. Can also be grown in containers if you use orchid mix.

Also known as A. x hybridum Fireball, and Abutilon Biltmore Ballgown, this is one of the many lovely hybrids between A. darwinii and A. striatum, with maple-like leaves and bell-flowers whose petals are recurved, turning in slightly at the bottom. Flowers are fiery red, as one would imagine, with prominent red veins accenting the surface. Happy plants can reach 8-10 ft tall, though pruning easily adjusts the size. Best with plentiful summer water and fertilizer. Less hardy than many, preferring temperatures that only occasionally drop into the 20s F, USDA zone 9. Placement out of wind with overhead protection and plentiful mulch help in less than balmy climates.

Brazilian Bell-flower is a fun and easy-to-grow hummingbird magnet for the perennial border. In the garden or in a hanging container, it spreads to several feet wide in a single season. In the wild, Abutilon megapotamicum reaches 8' tall, but in cultivation arely exceeds 5' tall, and less when grown as a potted plant. During warm months, the plants are laden with cool 2" hanging lantern-like flowers composed of red calyces above the yellow petals, ending with its bright red privates dangling beneath... all carefully arranged between the thumb-sized green leaves.

Red Maple is a fast growing tree, best known for its brilliant deep scarlet foliage in December-January in Florida and autumn elsewhere. It is is adaptable to a very wide range of site conditions. It can be found growing in wet sites, swamps, on poor dry soils, and most anywhere in between. Due to its attractive fall foliage and pleasing form, it is often used as a shade tree for landscapes. In Florida it grows much shorter than in colder region, reaching 20-40 ft.
This plant is grown from seed collected in Florida, so it is suited for planting in Florida. It may perform worse up North.

Aristolochia gigantea var. Brasiliensis is one of the most outrageous flowers in the world. This species from Brazil has huge, over ten inches in length lemon-scented flowers and exhibits an elaborate pattern of white and mottled reddish brown. Since it is not a vigorous vine, it can easily be trained on a stake, trellis or even a hanging basket. A most interesting rare collectible.

The slightly fragrant flowers are reminiscent of showy orchids, with five irregular, usually slightly overlapping petals in shades of magenta, lavender or purplish blue. Great landscape shade tree.
