Sauromatum (Typhonium) venosum - Voodoo Lily

Small shrub 2-5 ftSemi-shadeUnusual colorFragrantIrritatingSubtropical, cold hardy at least to 30s F for a short time

Rare variety of Amorphophallus ralative. Typhonium venosum, probably better known under its synonym Sauromatum venosum, is a common shade-loving house or garden plant from temperate and tropical Africa and Asia. Tuberous perennial with solitary, segmented round leaf and strange, arum-like flower. Collectable!
It grows to around 20 inches tall from an underground corm. A large T. venosum corm can spawn multiple new corms. Inflorescences emerge before their leaves. This plant is also known as the Voodoo Bulb because of its ability to flower from a corm without soil and water. An inflorescence has a purplish-brown-spotted, yellowish spathe and a purplish-brown spadix which emit a strong odor perceived as similar to cow manure, rotting flesh, or a dirty wet dog, depending on who smells the inflorescence. The odor lasts about 2 days, and attracts carrion-feeding insects which can pollinate this plant.
This plant is dormant from Fall through Winter, shipped as tuber, keep on dry side until it grows back its leaves in Spring.

Stonecrop, Hylotelephium. The plum foliage with smoky blue overtones is irresistible! Strong stems hold enticing clusters of bright pink flowers in late summer through fall. A shorter, yet upright Stonecrop, Sedum Blue Pearl was developed by plant breeder, Chris Hansen. Intense blue foliage makes this unique new selection a great choice for landscape or patio. Remains colorful all summer long, unlike other varieties. Large, contrasting hot pink flowers clusters dance above the foliage in late summer. Useful as colorful groundcover or feature in a rock garden or container. Sedums store water in their thick succulent leaves which enables them to be extremely drought tolerant.

Stapelia gigantea - Starfish Flower

Small shrub 2-5 ftFull sunModerate waterUnusual colorAttracts butterflies, hummingbirds

Starfish Flower, Giant Toad Flower, Carrion Flower. This is one of the largest flowers in the plant world! Great container plant, Stapelia gigantea, commonly called carrion flower, is a spine-free succulent member of the milkweed (not cactus!) family that is native to dry desert areas from Tanzania to South Africa. The common name comes from the malodorous flower aroma which resembles the smell of rotting meat. For those willing to look the other way on flower aroma, additional common names include giant toad flower or starfish flower. The focal point of this plant is the fleshy, 5-pointed, star-shaped flowers (to 10-16" across), each being pale ochre-yellow with thin transverse maroon lines. Flowers bloom in fall (flower buds are triggered by shortened daylight hours in fall). Flowers are pollinated by flies which reportedly find the carrion aroma irresistible. Spineless, 4-angled, succulent stems grow upright to 8-12" tall before scrambling sideways with the tips still erect. Plants in the ground may grow to 24" wide. Seed pods resemble milkweed and each individual seed has a milkweed-like parachute. Genus name honors Dutch physician Johannes Bodaeus van Stapel (1602-1636).

Succulent Care. This plant is shipped bare-rooted. Plant it in well-drained soil mix, water once and keep in warm (75-80F) place in filtered light. Do not water again until soil dries on surface.

Syngonium podophyllum Strawberry Cream - Neon Robusta

Pink Neon Syngonium is a beautiful plant that is easy to care for. It is so beautiful and impressive, every Aroid plant expert or houseplant enthusiast should have in their collection.
These subtropical climbers are a super versatile species, able to happily grow as a bushy houseplant, an outdoor vine or as a terrarium plant. The size and growth pattern of this plant is heavily shaped by its environment, but you can still expect the pink arrowhead vine to grow vigorously even in a terrarium. The juvenile leaves of the pink syngonium strongly exhibit that characteristic arrowhead shape, but you can expect them to change a lot as they mature. The leaves of fully grown plants actually develop into broad multilobed shapes where the arrow softens and widens, but you can expect to wait a long time for this to happen.

It is the least invasive of all thunbergia vines, grows rather slowly and keeps very compact shape. This species is probably the best for container culture or a small trellis. Small shrub 2-5 ftSemi-shadeEpiphyteRegular waterPink flowersWhite/off-white flowersRed/crimson/vinous flowersYellow/orange flowersSubtropical, cold hardy at least to 30s F for a short time

Tillandsias, called by some the world's most unusual airplants, are a delightful addition to any greenhouse. They are easy to care for, exotic to look at, and interesting to study. Tillandsias are air plants, even more so than other bromeliads and much like vandaceous orchids. Tillandsia's are without doubt one of the worlds most amazing group of plants. Tillandsias have developed the ability to take all their food and water through specially designed cells on their leaves and therefore can exist without any roots for ever. Roots are used by most species to attach themselves and nothing more. Tillandsias can grow in places no other plants can survive including electrical cable on power lines. They prefer light airy conditions and daily misting in areas of low humidity. Enjoy your tillandsia plant for years of blooming and pupping with good light, fresh air, and adequate but not overabundant watering, particularly in cooler weather.

Spanish moss is a flowering plant that grows upon larger trees, commonly the Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) or Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum) in the southeastern United States from Texas and Florida north to Southern Arkansas and Virginia. It is also native to Central and South America. It was introduced to Hawaii in the 19th century, and became a popular ornamental and lei plant. It is often called Pele hair after Pele the Hawaiian goddess. Spanish moss is not a moss, it is a flowering bromeliad plant that grows hanging from tree branches in full sun or partial shade. Spanish moss is an epiphyte which absorbs nutrients (especially calcium) and water from the air and rainfall. Spanish moss is also colloquially known as air plant.
