White Blackberry! It is an unusual white variety of blackberry developed by plant breeder Luther Burbank, also known as the iceberg white blackberry or Snowbank Berry, probably originating as a pun on the name "Burbank".
Snow-white berries are translucent, milky-white in color but have all the flavor of a “normal” blackberry. The drupelets look like tiny pearls and are simply beautiful little fruits. Berries stay whiter than other similar varieties as berries ripen, and with much better flavor.

This late ripening primocane variety produces loads of lush red raspberries, excellent flavor. Everbearing red raspberries, also called primocane raspberries, are able to grow flowers during the first year. These varieties produce fruit at the tips of the primocanes. During the second year, they can produce a summer crop on the lower part of the same canes. In a class by itself, Nantahala ripens slightly later than standard everbearing varieties and is well worth the wait. It delivers two great crops of large berries that rate consistently firmer, more flavorful, more attractive and with overall higher quality than others. The beautiful, red fruit is ideal fresh off the vine, baked into pies, processed into jams and syrups, or frozen.
Grows 2-5' tall, depending on location. Full to part sun. Hardy to Zone 6.

We obtained this plant in 2016, it was grown from the seeds brought to us from the plant in St. Catherines Monastery.
Holy Bramble, Burning Bush of the Bible. Rubus sanctus is a symbol of God revealing himself to man. An instance of it can be found at the Chapel of the Burning Bush on Mount Sinai, where it is revered as the original burning bush of the Bible. Today, it is very large in size, and many monks and scholars agree that the bush's presence is the very reason St. Catherine's Monastery developed in the first place. This longevity and location lead to its Latin name. Derivation of the botanical name: Rubus - latin name for Blackberry, Raspberry; Sanctus - sacred.
Rubus sanctus is a very long lived fruit shrub.

The Boysenberry is a cross among the European raspberry (Rubus idaeus), European blackberry (Rubus fruticosus), American dewberry (Rubus aboriginum), and loganberry (Rubus × loganobaccus). A prolific producer of sweet-tart, large, reddish black fruit in midsummer on second year growth. The beautiful bountiful berries sit against dark green foliage that make this plant not only useful but beautiful. Plant them as a hedge or border or even in a container for decadent berries at your fingertips. This vine is self fertile and grows and matures very quickly. You can expect fruit as early as its second season. Small white flowers precede the fruit on nearly thornless canes in spring. The fruit can be eaten fresh, cooked, or frozen.
The plant traced back to grower Rudolph Boysen, who obtained the dewberry-loganberry parent from the farm of John Lubben. Boysenberries grow on low, trailing plants and are characterized by their soft texture, thin skins, and sweet-tart flavor. Very large, fragile, purple berry with few seeds. Although this variety is named thorn-less, there are truly no thorn-less Boysenberries. However, this variety has far fewer and smaller thorns than other varieties. USDA zones 5-10.

The tree is very easy to grow and can thrive in almost neglect. In Caribbean, they even use sticks for creating live hedges - cuttings root easily. Very fast growing, and fruiting right away.

Miracle Fruit - unique fruit makes sour taste sweet.
It is one of the strangest tropical fruits. The "miracle" is that if lemon or other sour food is eaten after the miracle fruit, the sour tastes sweet, as if sugar has been added. A natural chemical in the fruit masks the tongue's sour taste buds so that lemons taste like lemonade or lemon pie, or lemon candy. The sweet sensation lasts for half an hour to a few hours.

Jambolan, Java Plum - Jambolan has fragrant white flowers in branched clusters at stem tips and purplish-black oval edible berries. Jambolans of good size and quality, having a sweet or subacid flavor and a minimum of astringency, are eaten raw and may be made into tarts, sauces and jam. The jambolan has received recognition in folk medicine and in the pharmaceutical trade. The seeds, leaves and bark are also used in various alternative healing systems like Ayurveda and Chinese medicine. According to Hindu tradition, Rama subsisted on the fruit in the forest for 14 years during his exile from Ayodhya. Because of this, many Hindus regard Jambul as a 'fruit of the gods'. In Hindu mythology Lord Krishna has been described as having skin the color of Jambul. The leaves are used in India as marriage pendals.

This tree yields smallish, ribbed and nut-like fruits which are picked when still green and then pickled, boiled with a little added sugar in their own syrup or used in preserves. The seed of the fruit, which has an elliptical shape, is an abrasive seed enveloped by a fleshy and firm pulp. It is regarded as a universal panacea in Ayurveda and in the traditional Tibetan medicine. Terminalia chebula is called the "king of medicines" in Tibet and is one of the prime Ayurvedic herbs from India because of its extraordinary healing powers. This fruit is best known for its health benefits within the digestive system, improves memory, helps with urinary stones and nervous irritability. According to Ayurveda, in combination with Emblica officinalis (Amla), it may help lower cholesterol and prevent the death of heart tissue.

The flesh is eaten as a dessert, and the seeds are the raw material of chocolate. Hot chocolate can be made by drying the seeds, roasting, grinding, and adding milk. Chocolate beans were used as money by the Maya Indians of Central America.
