This late ripening primocane variety produces loads of lush red raspberries, excellent flavor. Everbearing red raspberries, also called primocane raspberries, are able to grow flowers during the first year. These varieties produce fruit at the tips of the primocanes. During the second year, they can produce a summer crop on the lower part of the same canes. In a class by itself, Nantahala ripens slightly later than standard everbearing varieties and is well worth the wait. It delivers two great crops of large berries that rate consistently firmer, more flavorful, more attractive and with overall higher quality than others. The beautiful, red fruit is ideal fresh off the vine, baked into pies, processed into jams and syrups, or frozen.
Grows 2-5' tall, depending on location. Full to part sun. Hardy to Zone 6.
