Called pikake in Hawaii, Sambac is the plant used to flavor the jasmine tea and making perfumes. Perfect houseplant, takes both sun or shade, Jasminum Sambac is a beautiful fragrant everbloomer for your home and garden. Grand Duke is a slow grower and grows as a bush. It has the biggest of all sambacs tripple cauliflowered (camellia-like shaped) fragrant flowers. Excellent foliage of deep green ruffled leaves on strong rigidly erect canes; easily produces its typically solitary flower if provided richly fertilized warm soil, bright light and even levels of humidity. It has bushy growth habit; trim regularly to avoid legginess. Avoid chill to prevent flower bud drop. This variety is relatively shade tolerant, slow growing and compact, thus is good for potting and indoor culture.

New hybrid variety Supreme has elongated leaves and larger flowers that often come in bunches.

Philodendron erubescens is a vine or creeper plant native to Southern Brazil. It has a lush and graceful canopy of glossy leaves. Its beautiful pink flowers add a natural charm to any room or garden. The plant grows best in semi-shade or partial shade and needs regular watering. The soil should be kept consistently moist and watered when the top starts to feel dry. Do not let the soil dry out between waterings.

Thunbergia fragrans, commonly known as the White Clock Vine or Sweet Clock Vine, is a fast-growing perennial climber native to India and Southeast Asia. It produces twining stems with triangular to heart-shaped leaves and delicate white funnel-shaped flowers with a yellow throat, usually blooming throughout the warm season. This species is often used as a quick cover for fences, trellises, and arbors, where it adds a light and airy appearance to the garden.

Thunbergia fragrans thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with regular moisture. It is suited for USDA Zones 9-11 and is not frost tolerant. The vine is best grown in warm climates or containers that can be moved indoors during colder months. Protect from frost at all times, as prolonged exposure to temperatures below 40F may damage the plant.

The plant is named after a former Duchess of Portland, originally discovered in the island some centuries ago but had been in decline until Jamaicas National Arboretum Foundation at Hope Gardens began propagating them a few years ago. A slow growing small tree that produces 5-6" white, trumpet, fragrant flowers. In nature mature trees have been reported to grow 15 feet. Since it is very slow growing, it stays in container as a small 3-5" plant, and blooms when in young age. This plant has elliptic, leathery leaves and blooms from late Spring into Fall. The flowers are white tinged with pink and trumpet-shaped. The air is filled with their luscious perfume, reminiscent of warm, creamy chocolate. It is most fragrant in the evening and early morning, but can be appreciated most any time. Grows in wild in limestone or karst areas of Jamaica. Dark green, lush foliage contrasts beautifully with the white flowers. Initially the shrub grows on a tall single stem so it has the look of a standard or lollipop. Gradually, with age, it fills out and becomes more shrub-like. Given its native habitat, portlandia does well in alkaline soils. It is cold sensitive, and should be planted with protection from winter winds. Cold may cause leaves to drop and severe cold may knock it back to the ground, but it will spring back. While it can be grown in a container, it flowers much of the year if it is in the ground. One of very few tropical plants that tolerate alkaline soils!

Jasminum sambac 'Maid of Orleans', commonly known as Arabian Jasmine or Pikake, is a well-known cultivar valued for its simple, highly fragrant white flowers and reliable blooming habit. It forms a woody, vining shrub with glossy, dark green oval leaves and produces single blooms with a rich, classic jasmine scent. This cultivar is widely used for scenting jasmine tea and in perfumery, and is considered one of the easiest sambac types to flower indoors. It blooms repeatedly under warm conditions and can produce long, flexible shoots if left unpruned.

This variety grows well in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with regular watering. It tolerates lower light better than many other jasmines, though brighter conditions improve flowering. Growth becomes more vigorous once established, especially with occasional feeding during active growth. Cold tolerance is limited, with best performance in USDA Zone 10 and warmer; protection is required from frost. Jasminum sambac Maid of Orleans is well suited to container growing and indoor culture.

Unusual form of Monstera. Leathery foliage. Makes an interesting indoor specimen. Slow growing. Leaves have oval holes. It is sometimes referred to as the juvenile form of Monstera adansonii. Very close related species - Monstera adansonii. There are many hybrids in cultivation between Monstera adansonii and Monstera obliqua.

Monstera obliqua leaves are as thin as a sheet of paper, when adansonii leaves are a bit rough. Obliquas leaves consist mostly of holes. Adansonii leaves are not as longitindial as obliqua's. The holes in adansonii cover generally half of the adult leaf.

Coffee is the best gift plant and perfect house plant / container fruit tree. It grows into a beautiful dark green shrub or small tree. The white, fragrant, star-shaped flowers are clustered and resemble gardenias to which they are related. The whole fruit is edible, it is a small fleshy berry changing in color from green to yellow to red. The seeds are the actual "coffee beans" as they called, they can easily be dried, roasted and ground at home. The most common coffee is Coffea arabica; related species are Coffea robusta (Robusta Coffee) and Coffea liberica (Liberian Coffee).

When grown in a cold climate, it's important to provide your Sanseviera with an insulated pot and to make sure it's planted in a container with drainage holes. Furthermore, you may need to cover the pot in cold weather and to find a warm, sunny spot in the yard in which to keep it.
