Close related species - Turnera diffusa, Turnera aphrodisiaca (Damiana), highly valued medicinal plant.

stimulant, smoked or extract drunk in water or , more effective, alcohol. Contain essential oil, tannin and other active ingredients. Damiana is one of the more notorious herbal aphrodisiacs and has the reputation of being a superlative sexual tonic. It is a mood-elevating aromatic herb that helps calm anxiety and induce a relaxed state of mind, considered especially useful when anxiety and depression are discouraging sexual arousal. Damiana lends a delightful energy and flavor to wines and sundry other erotic potions.

This not over used bush, flowers daily for the whole year in Puerto Rico. Any Turnera will enhance your installation. Self seeded and so is
Turnera diffusa. You can also propagate it keeping cut stems in water until roots appear.

Birds love their seeds growing in little sacks between the trunk and branch. Flowers last longer
than many others and attrack bees.

One of my favorite plants for the last thirty years. It is also resistant to salt breeze, heat and drought.
