The most striking blue flowered vine in the world, with a robust and twining habit producing long hanging clusters of 3" sky blue funnel shaped flowers from fall through spring, displayed throughout it's dense deep green foliage. Can be trellised or arbored to create a spectacular sight! Hardy to freezing. Can be used as a background shrub if allowed to sprawl at the rear of a bed. It's also pretty clambering up a mail box or lamp post.

Thunbergia grandiflora is similar to Thunbergia laurifolia

except that leaves are heart-shaped.

This is absolutely the best of the species, always in bloom, spectacular colour, and easy to grow and maintain. Sunbirds love them, they bore a hole at the base and suck out the nectar. Nectar is very sweet, try it. Grows easily and well from cutting and flowers the first year. Seeds easily but I have not noticed any new growth from seed. Can easily cover a pergola very fast. Grows well in pots.

Just a note (no response necessary). I want to compliment you on your beautiful, professional site. Of all the sites I have search for, you have large pictures, the ability to help people understand what they are looking at and just the whole layout in general.

So here's to you for a wonderful site.

There will be a day when I actually buy beautiful flowers/plants that of course will bloom all year round, but first I have to learn how to not let them pass away (so to speak).

Thanks for listening.
