The Holik is a hybrid of Hamelia cuprea x patens that produces clusters of 1", burnt orange tubular flowers from summer to fall. It is a beautiful, tropical looking, shrub-like perennial. Large lush glossy, rounded, tropical foliage sets the flowers off nicely. This unusual hybrid Hamelia was developed from crossing Golden Bells with the Mexican Firebush and like it's parents it loves the heat and sun and is an excellent choice for Hummingbirds. Holik is likely to grow 4-5' high in mild winter climates and size can be controlled with periodic pruning.
